Veterans Muster brings key veteran resources
The Baltimore County Department of Aging is pleased to announce there will be a Veterans Muster.
The Muster, sponsored by the Towson Elks, is a one-stop shop for veterans and their families to find
resources and programs dedicated to those that have served their country. Additionally, we are happy to have the support of the Baltimore County Commission on Veterans Affairs.
Connecting with veteran resources at any age is important to get the attention that any serviceperson
deserves. The Veteran Muster at Expo will offer insights and resources for veterans of all ages and
their families.
“So many veterans out there don’t realize they are eligible for care which makes it so important to let them know what they need to do to follow up on claims and establish service connection,” Michelle
Mills, Deputy Director of the Baltimore County Department of Aging stated, “We are proud to gather as many resources as we can for them to stroll through the tables and find valuable information.”
On Thursday, October 22, at Noon, Expo will stop to salute its veterans on the Main Stage with a
presentation of the colors, the pledge and the singing of the national anthem. Expo looks forward to honoring our veterans and their families with resources and tributes during our welcoming ceremony.
Volunteer in Baltimore County
Make sure you find time to stop by the Volunteer Fair at the Power of Age Expo on Thursday, October 22nd, 2026! If you are looking to volunteer around Baltimore County, this is a great opportunity to talk with local non-profits and organizations to find the best volunteer fit for you. Volunteers can visit local seniors, deliver food to those who are homebound, assist with transporting blood to help save lives and so much more!
This year the Volunteer Fair will also be including organizations that can be found on the Baltimore County Volunteer Center Portal. This means there will be double the number of organizations looking for volunteers so please stop by to learn more about how to give back in the Baltimore County community!

Pickleball Palooza
Baltimore County is proud to present the 2026 Pickleball Palooza Championship Tournament, sponsored by Vascular Surgery Associates, Bounce Pickleball, Dill Dinkers of Cockeysville, Dill Dinkers of White Marsh, Maryland Relay, Athletico/Pivot Physical Therapy, and Mid-Atlantic Medical Supply & Equipment.
Throughout August, September, and early October, regional qualifying tournaments were held at Dill Dinkers Cockeysville, Dill Dinkers White Marsh, and Bounce Pikesville. Enthusiastic co-ed doubles teams in three age brackets — 60–69, 70–79, and 80+ — competed in spirited round-robin and bracket-style play for a chance to advance to the Championship. A new Beginner Category debuted this year, offering newer players (up to one year of experience) an opportunity to compete, with standard rules and formats applied.
At each regional event, the top three teams from every age group earned their place in the Championship Tournament. These finalists will now represent their centers and communities at the 2026 Power of Age Expo, held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, 2200 York Road, Lutherville‑Timonium, MD 21093. Championship match times will be announced.
If you’re a fan of pickleball or simply curious about this fast‑growing sport, visit the Championship area in the North Hall during Expo. Cheer on your favorite center’s team, connect with local pickleball players, and pick up playing tips. Spectators and cheerleaders are welcome this year — bring your energy!
Medals were awarded to top teams at the regional level, and Championship winners will receive trophies recognizing their achievement.
Delight in the creative art and writing entries
Discover the extraordinarily creative talents of senior center artists and writers on display at this year’s Creative Arts Show at The Power of Age Expo. The Community College of Baltimore County will be sponsoring this area at the event.
More than 100 masterpieces will be displayed. To qualify for participation, art must have been created while the artist was a senior center member or since they were age 60 or older.
Many of these beautiful pieces of art were crafted utilizing skills attained while attending classes held at the individual artist’s senior center. Art featured is from one of nine categories.
The winner in each category will receive a gift card and a special ribbon. Winners will be announced from the main stage for artist and their guests around 4:30 p.m. Each category winner and their artwork will be featured in the “Time of Your Life Digest” newspaper.
